Iridescent Pastel Unicorn Haul

I seem to be in the throes of an intense obsession with all things pastel, iridescent, unicorn-y and mermaid-y right now, and I am loving it. I've always had a bit of a soft spot for these kinds of things, but over the last few months I've really been embracing them, so of course my shopping habits have followed suit. In fact I've ended up accumulating so much over a few months that I've had to split this haul into two parts-this part will be the things that make me think of unicorns, and there will be a mermaid themed part two!

This re-usable shopping bag started off the whole pastel shopping phase, I just couldn't resist the dreamy colours and cloud design! This is from Paperchase and I actually got it for free-if you have a Paperchase loyalty card you get £5 credit to spend for your birthday, and this is what I chose to buy with it.

Next I got this amazing aura quartz necklace from Bristol Museum Shop, which I have been wearing a lot. I think its simplicity really shows off the beautiful crystal. This was the last one in the shop, so I took it as a bit of a sign to buy it!

I picked up some iridescent fabric paint, which I didn't even realise was a thing! This is a gorgeous pearlised off-white, and I plan to create some unicorn and seashell inspired projects with it. It's from Docrafts, but I got mine at Craft & More.

I got these adorable kitschy unicorn stickers from Cloudy Cow. They are so whimsical, with two different unicorn designs, stars, rainbows, ice cream cones, ice cream soda drinks, gems and shooting stars.  They're almost too cute to use.

After years of trying to find iridescent lustreware, I suddenly thrifted several pieces. First up was this mug, which has a bird and "North Carolina" on the front (which I tried and failed to remove)...

but the back is pure iridescent rainbow goodness. It was incredibly cheap, so I can overlook the bird (sorry bird).

I found this interesting bottle, which I think was some kind of air freshener/scent diffuser thing. It smelled really bad when I got it and was super dirty, but after a good clean it's pure shimmering unicorn magic.

I also got this little dish thing, which I think might be meant to be a ramekin. Right now I'm using it as a candle holder.

I'm not very into makeup generally, but one makeup bandwagon I have jumped on is the highlighter trend. An opportunity to make myself iridescent just seems too good to pass up. I got the MUA Undress Your Skin Highlighting Powder in Pearlescent Sheen, and it has a really pretty blue toned shimmer to it. I'm hoping to do a unicorn inspired makeup tutorial using this soon.

Finally I got some gorgeous lavender yarn, which has iridescent strands running through it! I need to think up a suitably magical project for this.

Which was your favourite item from this haul?

  1. Love all of the iridescent, pastel goodness in this haul - I've got a real thing for those pearly, iridescent shades, and they do make me think of mermaids and unicorns, you're right. The mug with the little cardinal on it is lovely, it's a shame you weren't able to remove it though as I think you're right, the mug with just the iridescence would look amazing, and I think the cardinal would have looked better on a plain surface. The necklace you bought is gorgeous too! - Tasha

  2. I love it all! I think my favourite might be the stickers, they have this adorable vintage kitsch vibe. I'm so looking forward to more pastel-shimmery-iridescents inspired projects and posts from you!

  3. I utterly adore that necklace and highlighter!! Xx
