Mini Art Haul

As a creative person, I love buying art, or things with people's art on, or handmade things. I follow a lot of artists and illustrators and makers on Instagram so I have a daily dose of temptation and art lust. Sadly I can't always buy every piece I want-although I'm already planning my collection for when I'm rich and have a big house-but whenever I can spare my pennies, I try to support artists and makers.
Luckily, Lilly Piri released her amazing rainbow deer stickers when I had some fun money to spare, so I picked up a couple of the small ones and a big one. I adore Piri's artwork- the sweet fawns, rainbow colours, and surreal, modern fairy tale feeling of her work is exactly my cup of tea. I was really impressed with the high quality and colour intensity of these stickers. They have kept the painted look of the original image, so are really true to the original artwork, and aren't warped or pixellated or blurry at all. The only problem is that I love the stickers so much, I can't bear to stick them onto anything yet... I was also really happy with how nicely the stickers were packaged-the envelope had Alice in Wonderland stickers on it, and the plastic sleeve the stickers were in had tiny deer and heart stickers on, so it felt very personal and special, almost like a cute gift from a penpal. Lilly had also included a heart meltingly cute cat postcard as a freebie, along with a promotional postcard which may be the prettiest thing I had ever seen, and some really beautiful business cards.

I also ordered some prints from Flotsam and Jetsam, a lovely shop selling prints, art objects and other goodies which all have a sea theme. Of course this really appeals to the mermaid in me! I instantly fell in love with the Storm in a Teacup tattoo style print, I think it is a wonderful image and a good reminder that things are rarely as bad as they seem. I also got the "We are made of star dust" print, because I really like the calligraphy style lettering on the watercolour background, and I love the sentiment behind the words. I bought these while Flotsam and Jetsam were offering a discount code, so they were even more inexpensive than usual, but their prices are always extremely reasonable. I think I will probably be buying from them again in future, I just love their aesthetic.
