Casual Ariel Inspired Mermaid Outfit

I love to get all dressed up and channel fairytale princess, but I also love to wear things which feel like I'm still in my pyjamas. Thankfully most of my wardrobe allows for some kind of intersection between the two. This is one such outfit-inspired by the colours of Ariel The Little Mermaid's top and tail, suitably swishy, but also oh so comfortable.

A really easy way of looking like you've made an effort, and distracting from the fact you're actually wearing a lot of cotton jersey, is to pile on accessories. I like layering these two necklaces at the moment, I think it looks very mermaidy.

The shorter one is a vintage mother of pearl beauty, which looks like something a mermaid would find in a shipwreck, and the longer one is a shell shape locket I made.

I also wore one of my self made shell crowns, and put on lots of shimmery eyeshadow in mother of pearl shades.

The top is second hand White Stuff, I couldn't resist the beautiful bluebell shade. The skirt is self made. The grey boots, which I am loving at the moment, are also second hand. I want to get more mermaidy shoes-I have a few summery pairs but nothing suitable for colder weather.
