#CreativeKickstart January

#CreativeKickstart is a hashtag to share what we've been making and being inspired by each month, created by my merfriend Cuttlefishlove. I kept up with it for a few months last year but then lost track. This year I want to post a photo for each month. I think it will be really interesting to look back at the end of the year and see my creative journey!
In January's photo I have included:

My handmade planner dividers-I got a planner to help with organisation this year, and I made some under the sea themed dividers for it. I also added a mermaid scale cabochon to the planner itself. I love how mermaid-y it turned out, and I'm hoping having a planner will help me organise myself creatively and in general.

Mermaid scale fabric-I continued getting more and more immersed in the world of mermaids, and although I didn't make many mermaid themed things in January, I thought of a lot of ideas for mermaid projects which I'll be making later in the year.

Fimo-I've been loving using polymer clay recently, and am on a mission to use my current supply up! It's such a versatile medium, and I really enjoy the range of projects I can incorporate it into. I'm trying to be more creative and more daring with what I make with polymer clay these days, and have some larger scale projects planned.

Unicorn horns-Unicorns were a big inspiration in January, and have continued to inspire me. I love the fantasy infused feeling my creative work has taken on in recent months, and I really want to continue down this road.

Knitting-I have really got back into knitting recently, and have a lot of different projects I want to work on. Finishing my dragon shawl was a bit achievement in January, and I can't wait to get more projects finished and in use. I have developed a deep love of yarn and wool, to the point that I'm currently looking to buy a spinning wheel so that I can dye and spin my own yarn!
