Review: Dragonfly Tea

I drink a lot of tea while I'm crafting, as I find it gives just enough of a wake up boost without the jittery loss of concentration I can get from having too much coffee. I always enjoy finding new teas to try, so when an opportunity to review a selection of Dragonfly Tea came up, I jumped at the chance!

Dragonfly Tea is a family run, UK based artisan tea company. They chose the name and logo of the dragonfly because it is "a symbol of purity, vitality and harmony throughout the world... Dragonflies love sunshine, warmth and clear, pure water. We believe the same elements are required for creating a truly fine cup of tea."

Sparkly Fantasy Mermaid Seashell Necklace

For as long as I can remember I've loved everything to do with mermaids. I also love iridescent things. So when I spotted a Swarovski aurora borealis sea shell charm on ebay, I had to have it.

OOTD: Mori Kei Inspired

There are days when I want to dress up and days when I want to wear things that feel like pyjamas. On the latter, I always seem to reach for this dress. It's self made, from a soft and flowy feather patterned jersey.

Needle Felted Fairy Tale Toadstools

After months of enviously eyeing other people's needle felting projects-especially Violet Le Beaux's-I decided to just get on with it, buy a kit, and try it for myself. I bought one of the cheapest needle felting kits I could find on ebay, and it arrived at the beginning of January. The kit came with a pretty decent amount of wool roving, needles, finger guards (which are actually far too big for my fingers, so I don't use them), felting needles, and a foam mat. To be honest, the foam mat isn't very good quality, so I will be replacing it with a better one soon, but I wanted to check I actually liked needle felting before investing more money in it!

What I Learned From My Month On A Spending Ban

After feeling unhappy with my spending habits and the amount of stuff I was accumulating for months, I decided to go on a spending ban for January. It wasn't even that I was buying expensive things, I was spending relatively small amounts on cheap items, but I just felt like I was impulse buying a lot, and not appreciating what I had. I felt like I needed a complete shut down on my spending, so that I could re-assess and see what it was that was making me feel uneasy.  I stopped myself from all non-essential spending, and I actually did pretty well-I only slipped up once, and even then I only spent £3, so I think overall it was a win!

Love Letters

I just thought I'd share a little craft project I did for my mum's birthday present. I bought some plain papier mache letters from The Works, which spelled out "LOVE". I painted them white using acrylic paint-it took about four coats to get it opaque.

OOTD: Black and Blue

There are some days when, even though I have no reason to leave the house, I still want to wear something pretty. Such a day occurred last week, when I managed to successfully pin curl my hair for the first time! I was so besotted with my curls that I couldn't stop touching them (as you can probably tell from these photos). I felt like they needed an outfit that would do them justice, rather than my usual 3000 layers of knitwear (living in an attic is cold, ok?).
