So, week 2 of #Crafting365 already! Where is the time going? This was another week of snatched moments of creative time, but I seem to have turned a corner over this weekend and am finding it much easier to fit in more time on projects. It could be famous last words, or who knows, perhaps by next week I might even have actually finished some things. Anyway, here's what I got up to this week.
Day 8 : I tacked the deer's facial expressions on for my deer embroidery. I'm working from a pattern from Mollie Makes Issue 56, but I changed the shape of the deer slightly.
Day 9: I worked on my knitted project a little more. I love the colours of this yarn, they're perfect for this time of year.
Day 10: I sewed more embroidered squares together, and now have three strips of them. The next step will be to sew these strips together, and then add an edging.
Day 11: I realised I really wasn't happy with the proportions of my deer, so I took it off and started again. I'm happier with how it looks now, less spindly necked. This is the only problem with altering patterns-it takes away a lot of the ease of using them!
Day 12: I finished stitching the deer shapes down, and traced the embroidery pattern with a water soluble pen.
Day 13: I started stitching a little mountain range behind the deer.
Day 14: I worked on the mountain range a little more. I like how fluffy the snow looks, thanks to the puffy thread.
Usually I flit between projects so I don't get bored, but I'm going to try to knuckle down and focus on one or two at a time for now. I really need to finish some things!
You can see what I got up to in week 1 here.
