Field Walk

Recently I've had this really strong feeling of needing to be around nature, but I haven't had the time or the energy to go for my usual longer walks.

Eventually I decided that something was better than nothing, and took a quick walk across some fields just before the sun set.

The light was beautiful, and even in the small area I covered there was a wealth of different plants. I love how the tall grasses of late summer look, although walking through them is a somewhat prickly experience!

It was enough to tide me over a bit longer, and I felt much happier for it.

  1. I love long country walks with the family as well. There are lots of rights of way across fields near my house where you can hear nothing but bird song and the occassional sheep bleating - sheer bliss!

I know what you mean about the prickly experience - its been a good year for nettles and brambles - you will have to invest in a pair of trousers like me!

  2. Oh what a wonderful place to reflect and catch some fresh air! Sometimes I really miss fields, you can seriously get away from the rush of life wandering around the countryside!
