OOTD: Garden Elf

As I mentioned in my Spring Haul, I bought some elf ears, and I love them! I have been wearing them around the house quite a bit as I really like how they look. If only ear pointing wasn't so expensive and gory, sigh.

Elf ears require a certain look to not look completely out of place, so I've also been piling on the flower crowns and nature themed jewellery, and opting for flowing dresses and dainty footwear.

I really like the unusual dark blue colour of this flower crown, and I think it looks good against my hair color.

This necklace was an Ebay find which I was really happy about, as I'm obsessed with maple leaves. I've wanted a piece of maple leaf jewellery for ages.

The bridesmaid shoes I picked up in a charity shop last year are great for fantasy themed outfits, with their delicate look. I think they are so pretty!

I really enjoy getting dressed up like this sometimes, even if (perhaps especially if) I'm not doing anything special. I think it's important to dress however you want, even if that does involve elf ears and impractically white shoes! I like to treat my wardrobe like a dressing up box and re-capture that childlike joy in being able to put on whatever character I want to be that day.

  1. So glad to see that you are doing another outfit post. I love the colour and style of your dress and your shoes look like a great charity shop find. I can just imagine the reaction of my children if I sported elf ears though!
